We are officially on school break for the next six weeks! The kids have been playing nonstop and I have about a million things on my to-do list. Rest is a priority, and I admit it’s a struggle. I’m not the best at relaxing but drawing definitely helps! One of the things on my mile-long to-do list is to create some of the activities you guys have requested. Cell anatomy activities are top of the list!
Most of the time I create educational tools that my kids need, but occasionally you all inspire me too! I absolutely love getting requests, and cell anatomy activities for plants and animals are requested super often. I’ve received emails, Instagram messages, and even requests through Etsy and I’m so happy to finally be able to share these with you.
Frankly, they were crazy fun to draw and I can’t wait to use them in our own lessons. Science is not generally my favorite but these cell anatomy pages turned out so cool! God really is in the details! I’m so fascinated by how he created even the tiniest cells and their parts to function so beautifully. This will be a fun lesson to add to our science explorations this coming school year.
Let’s take a closer look at these plant and animal cell anatomy pages!
For some reason, the plant cell is my favorite.
Can you have a favorite cell? It’s so cute! And I love the structure. I look forward to displaying the little mini-poster with its bright colors and clear labels. Along with the mini poster comes a matching activity (in black and white and color), a vocabulary page, and a coloring page. My older two will focus on matching and vocabulary, and my youngest will love the coloring page. I love that this set can span multiple ages and create a fun family-style lesson.
All the pages are printed on card stock for durability. I laminated the matching game and now the kids can use it over and over with the addition of Velcro dots to attach the labels. The mini poster and vocabulary page might also get laminated in the future. For now, I just love the colors so much that I’ll just leave it as is.
The animal cell set is just as fun!
The hand-drawn animal cell is packed with color, the activities are easy to use and easy for multiple age groups to learn with. Just like the plant cell pages, the animal cell set includes a mini poster, a matching activity in color and black and white, a vocabulary page, and a coloring page.
Both sets are available separately, but I also made them into a bundle with a little added bonus. If you get them together you’ll also find a Venn diagram page for comparing and contrasting the parts of each cell. This is a great way to dig a little deeper into God’s amazing design.
