The end-of-the-year curriculum review I did last week was also the start of planning our next school year. It was so helpful to me to see everything we had done. Now I can start organizing and planning our way forward.
As I think about how I want our next school year to look, I know for sure organization is going to be key. I will have a second, third, and fifth grader this coming year! Things are getting serious! All of them can read and write, Squeaks is doing math I actually need the teacher’s manual to check sometimes, and they’re all building their own interests. I’ll need a way to keep track of it all!
I designed a lesson planner years ago that has served me well. any of you enjoyed using it too and the original will remain free in the Printable Library. I’m taking it up a notch this year though.
Introducing, “The Plan”. My brand new editable lesson planner!
I’ve designed a clean, colorful, and editable planner with so many organizational options that it will fit any curiosity that may arise. Not just for the kids either! There’s plenty of room for mom to keep organized too! Meal planning, checklists, trackers… there’s something for every part of life. Because homeschooling isn’t school at home, it is life!
Here’s what’s included:
- Cover
- Important Dates (yearly planner)
- Daily Planner (I laminated mine onto the back of the cover to make it dry erase.)
- Monthly Calendar
- Habit Tracker (monthly, weekly, and daily habits)
- Weekly Checklist
- Weekly Planner (hello, meal planner!)
- Morning Basket Planner
- Daily Lesson Planner
- Daily Rhythm
- Loop Schedules (two and three loop formats included)

To edit the file you’ll need to have the ability to download to a computer and open in Adobe Reader, which you can download for free here (if you don’t already have it): https://get.adobe.com/reader/ Then simply fill in your weekly tasks where the blue boxes indicate (the boxes will not print if left blank).
I used my beloved laminating machine to do the cover and laminated a blank sheet of card stock to create a back cover. To bind the whole thing I used my ProClick Binding System with a 1/2″ diameter coil. I did use basic Amazon printer paper and printed front and back so it does show through a bit. If this bothers you, I’d recommend a slightly thicker paper or printing single sided (although that would be a pretty thick planner). The show-through doesn’t bother me though and I prefer the less expensive paper anyway.
I printed enough to take us through the entire 2024-2025 school year. Usually, I plan for at least 36 weeks of lessons, but I printed 40 weeks worth just to have some wiggle room. My planner is divided into yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily sections using tabs, with the rhythm and routine pages as well as the Book List and Prayer Tracker pages in their own section at the end.
