Easter is coming—and while I love me some chocolate eggs and Peeps, I’m always looking for ways to point my kids to the truth during this season. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our faith, and I want Holy Week to be more than a cute bunny-filled holiday—it should be a time of worship, reflection, and growing in the knowledge of God.
Years ago, I created a Holy Week Countdown Banner—a sweet, simple way to mark each day leading up to Easter. And while it served us well when my kiddos were little, I knew we were ready for something more.
As our kids grow, so does their understanding. So I created a brand new Christ-Centered Holy Week Activity Set designed to deepen their knowledge and make space for meaningful conversations as a family.
Why This Matters
We’ll still display our trusty banner (it’s so pretty!) but we’re expanding on our old Easter routine—and that’s a good thing. As our children grow in knowledge and faith, they’re ready for deeper conversations and bigger truths. That’s why this activity set is more than cute coloring pages—it’s a tool to help families build lasting traditions around God’s Word.
Holy Week gives us the perfect opportunity to slow down and remember. Jesus didn’t just live a good life—He fulfilled every promise, bore our sins, died, and rose again. Let’s center our Easter celebration on that truth. Let’s show our kids that the resurrection isn’t just a chapter in a storybook—it’s the real, living hope of the gospel.
What’s Inside the Activity Set?
This printable pack is both beautiful and Bible-based—created to walk your family through the week leading up to Resurrection Sunday with Scripture at the center.
Here’s what’s included:
- Daily Display Cards & Art Prints – Perfect for your schoolroom board or dining table centerpiece. Each card highlights the day’s Scripture theme and makes a great visual anchor.
- Coloring Pages – Thoughtful designs featuring key Bible verses from Holy Week. Ideal for quiet time or keeping younger siblings engaged during read-alouds.
- Penmanship Practice – In both print and cursive, using actual ESV Scripture passages for kids to write and reflect on.
- Read & Discuss Guide – A structured daily reading plan with theologically rich, text-based questions—so you can talk about what the Bible says, not just how we feel about it.
- “Prophesy Fulfilled” Chart – Want to dig a bit deeper? Look into how Christ’s death and resurrection fulfills so many Old Testament prophesies using this handy comparison chart.
How to Use the Holy Week Set in Your Homeschool or Family Devotions
Here are a few ways to make the most of this resource:
Morning Time Anchors
Start each day of Holy Week by reading the assigned Scripture, then hang up the matching display card. Let your kids color the coordinating page while you discuss the passage using the included questions.
Penmanship with Purpose
Use the print or cursive copywork pages as part of your handwriting practice. We like to read the verse aloud before writing and talk about what it means.
A Simple Visual Setup
Hang the art prints and cards somewhere visible (our schoolroom magnet board is a favorite spot!). It builds anticipation for Resurrection Sunday and serves as a daily reminder that this week is different—it’s set apart.
Evening Recap
Use the same discussion questions at dinner or bedtime. You’ll be amazed at what your kids remember—and how the repetition reinforces the story.
Ready to Celebrate Holy Week with Purpose?
If you’re looking for Holy Week activities for kids that are both meaningful and fun, this set is ready to print and go. Whether you use it for homeschool, morning basket, or family devotions, it’s designed to meet your kids where they are—and help them grow in grace.
