If you’ve been following my Instagram lately you know that Flash had a short stay in the hospital recently. Somehow (a cause was never determined) he had developed a blood infection. A few days in the hospital and some antibiotics cleared everything up pretty quickly though and all is right with our littlest man again. Mama’s back is still recovering from sleeping in a chair for four nights, but that’s a very small price to pay.
The whole experience was just another reminder of how incredible the human anatomy is. God made each cell, each organ for just the right purpose, and it miraculously all works together in harmony. Our sinful broken world full of germs and sickness really throws a wrench in things sometimes, but how amazing that the human body can heal so well. Today you’d never know that Flash was sick just a short time ago.
Our stay in the hospital was my inspiration for my newest game and Squeaks’ new favorite lesson. My First Anatomy Game is simple yet informative and fun. I always know I’ve made a good game when even I learn things! I learned a ton of stuff about each organ while researching fun facts to include with the game.

How My First Anatomy Game works:
The matching part of the game is super simple but fun. The major organs are grouped by twos for easy memorization. Match each set of organs to their corresponding labeled outlines, then flip the game over (or you could print on a separate page) to read the fun facts about each organ. I laminated ours and added velcro dots to keep the organs in place (that sounds weird). And because I never want my kiddos to forget just how much they are loved, inside and out, I included Psalm 139:13-14 on the front.
“For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.” -Psalm 139:13-14
This little game has been a great conversation starter and the perfect companion to our Look Inside Your Body book (one of Squeaks’ favorites). Plus with two brothers, having knowledge of how poop is made makes Squeaks feel like the smartest kid in our house. Haha! 😉 I hope you and your little ones will enjoy this game as much as we have.
